From teaching to providing healthcare in rural communities to working in over-crowded garment factories, women in Myanmar play a crucial role in managing and interacting with their community’s natural resources. They therefore have great potential impact on environmental sustainability.
By taking a deeper look into the lives of five everyday women in Myanmar, our ‘Thuma The’ (She Is…) photo exhibition aims to bring awareness not only to the role that women play in Myanmar, but to the vast and untouched opportunities they have for growth and leadership development. And ultimately, to bring attention to the role that we all play in encouraging and empowering not only these women, but all women towards growth and development.
